Why is religious fanaticism spreading fast in Asia?

Considering media reports I’m convinced that fanatics affiliated with different religions mainly Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism have been on the rise in Asia, especially in the Middle-East and South Asia for the past decade.

There are many reasons claimed by the law enforcers whereas the perpetrators show excuses to justify their evil acts that go against peace.

I’ve listed a number of answers behind the alarming rise. Feel free to choose the appropriate answer or give a new suggestion. Thanks!

1. Global Warming
2. They are power hungry
3. Consequence of historic events
4. Spread of religion-based politics
5. Poverty
6. Low literacy rate
7. Corruption

The groups in question include al-Qaeda, Taliban, Laskar-e-Taiba, Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO), Jamaat-e-Islami, Hizb ut-Tahrir, Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami (Huji), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) etc.
