Seven-Murder Case: Sincerity of government questioned

It took the government 13 months to dismiss Awami League councillor Nur Hossain, prime accused in Narayanganj seven murder case!

Charge sheet in the case was submitted in April, one year into the contract killings.

The abductions and subsequent killings were carried out by over two dozen officials and subordinates of RAB 11 — an elite force trained by US & UK — allegedly in exchange for Tk6 crore!!

Dismissed RAB 11 chief Tarek Sayeed Mohammad is the son-in-law of disaster management and relief Minister Maya!!!

The Siddhirganj Awami League relieved him from the post of vice-president on May 10 last year.

The government on Sunday dismissed him for his conviction in a wildlife case. Police in May last year found 41 types of animals including birds at his house.

His drug business came to light at that time following a raid at his shops the same month.

Now he’s in Kolkata jail for illegal entry and possession of arms. His deportation is now hanging in balance.
